Welcome from Southern New Mexico. When I was in military I used to go TDY to the airshow there. I thought it was a nice place.

Smith Wesson model 547 M & P was a 3 or 4 inch heavy barrel 6 shot round butt 9mm ( 4 Inch was a Square Butt) came in Blue steel only. Approx weight about 32 oz, Just under 7,000 were manufactured and was dropped from the Smith Wesson line in April of 1985.

Originally developed as a special gun ordered by the US Marshall's service to arm Court Security Personnel. After testing the Marshall's Service went with model 64 3 inch Stainless Steel guns loaded with a special treasury load that was anti personal and designed not to over penetrate a torso and designed for use in court rooms and court houses.

The Marshall's service dropped the 9mm idea. Smith Wesson went ahead with production . MSRP was $317.00 New. Law Enforcement Price an letter head was $295.00 over 75% of the production was in the 3 inch round butt.

they are nice collectors and great shooters.
