    New Member from Germany

Hi I’m Mike. I live in a town called Essen, in the Midwest of Germany, not far from the Dutch Border.
In Germany we have very hard Restrictions for owning a gun, but if you are a Member in in a Gun Club, that belongs to one of the official Associations for our Sport, after some Obstacles (1 Year membership, continuous Shooting, Backgroundcheck, Proof of Competence etc.) it is possible. So not many People have legal guns over here. I really envy you for your 2nd Amendment. Since last week I’m a lucky owner of two of them. I have a Walther GSP .22 lr Sportpistol and a Smith&Wesson 1911 Performance Center .45 ACP. With the 1911 for me a dream came true and I think, we will have a lot of Fun on the Range together. One of our several trips through the USA brought me to this Sport. I tried a 9 mm M&P at Buds Gunshop in Sevierville, Tennessee and it gots me. Back Home I found a nice Gun Club in our area and here I am.

Welcomen! Glad to have you on the forum! Pull up a stump and set a spell - tell us more about your German laws, and your 1911 and Walther.

It is amazing how one trip to a range generates converts to our sport/hobby! Hearing of your difficulties in obtaining firearms should make us all that more grateful for the 2A and gun-friendly states like Texas, Georgia, Arizona and all the others I didn't mention. We have several that would rather be like Germany, France, Italy, and the UK. Most recently one of the most restrictive states, Maryland, just had someone use a pump action shotgun to kill 5 workers at a newspaper he had a 9-year fight with. As most on this forum know, restrictions do not equal prevention, and prohibition works even less well.

Please enjoy to trips to the range and send us range reports on how you do! If you can send pictures of your guns, we get excited to see them! Danke!

    Welcome aboard from Pa.
The shooting sports are fun and enjoyable past time.
It is a shame the hurdles good folk have to negotiate to own a gun. Congrats on your perseverance.
    As mentioned, we like pics.

With the cost of ammo so high, dont expect a warning shot.
