    S&W 15-22s at the Range

With weather forecasts for a nice day, we got hit with a strong thunderstorm around 12:15 today. Lasted almost an hour. When Curt and I got to the gate this was our view 50 feet up the road

Most of it was dead and dry so we broke it off but one 5 inch branch blocked the way. Curt suggested shooting through it so out came my Shield. After punching 7 or 8 holes in the same area the branch snapped right off giving us a 3/4 clear road and enough berm to get by
Plan was to sight in red dot sights on 15-22 rifles so we set up a bench at 50 yards

After a few rounds we had the dots pretty well zeroed

We moved up to around 35 yards for some off hand rapid target transitions

Had a good time. It was a real scorcher but occasionally a cloud of breeze came along. Curt also ran a half box or so of ammo through his 638 and did real well with it and I shot 50 rounds in my Shield. Having to blaze the trail into the pit killed about 25 minutes of shooting time

Great day! Enjoyed the 15-22's and the red dot worked well. Was happy with how I shot the 638 and Jonesy was having fun with the shield. Now cleaning time.
I keep a gun because I'm too young to die and too old to take an ass whoopin'!

Looks like you and Curt had a really good day of shooting. I’m glad the red dot worked out. Now the fun really begins—cleaning

And nobody hit the car. That would be a hard one to explain to the wife.

It looks like its closer to the danger zone than it really is....and it would be hard to explain. The '07 PT Cruiser is my wifes work and around town car. She loves it. I have been hoping for something catastrophic to happen to it for a couple of years, but no luck so far. It only has 103,000 on it and only got driven 2800 miles between yearly inspections this year and about 3300 last year. With the rear seat folded down it does hold 3 to 5 target stands, steel plates, water bottles a small table, at least 2 shooters and their guns n gear though!

Everything that happens is either endurable or not. If it’s endurable, then endure it. Stop complaining. If it’s unendurable . . . then stop complaining. Your destruction will mean its end as well.
