Who Won't Buy One Of These Because Of All The Plastic? (M&P 15-22)

I know they run good, and are fairly accurate. But I just can't get past all of the endless plastic on these guns. I wish they would have machined them from Aluminum, and charged more for them. They look and feel like a kids toy.

Well what you can do is get a m&p 15 in .223 and build another upper (fairly easy with some simple tools and an AR wrench) and a couple other pieces and have two in one.

    Just an option.

I've been shooting a Bushie Carbon15 in .223 for years with no malfunctions. Lots lighter and runs just fine. The pistol crowd and Ruger rifles don't seem to have problems either. Heck, I remember when they said the steel AR's were kid's toys back in the '60's.
I think your fears may be unfounded. Personal preference is another matter entirely. That's why they make chocolate and vanilla!

I think I'm going to get a CMMG AR-15 .22 L.R. Conversion, and just convert one of my .223 / 5.56 MM AR's. That way I'll have an all metal gun. The CMMG conversions are pretty reliable and run around $170.00 - $200.00 with 3 magazines.

I'm not worried about function of the S&W M&P 15-22. I just can't stand all that plastic.

I will never own one of these. They're junk, and the only thing they have in common with an AR-15 is what they look like.
It's a kids gun no matter how you look at it. the only "AR" platform 22LR rifle I know of that's worse is the Mossberg Tactical 22.
This was made for those that can't afford to shoot .223/5.56 ammo, but want to have a cool looking "Tactical" rifle, and made as an entry level beginners rifle.

When the time comes that I don't want a new gun, call the undertaker!
When they come for your guns, give them the ammo first!
.45 ACP, Because shooting twice is just plain silly!

To each his own. My PC 15-22 is a hoot to shoot and I like it.
