Happy Birthday to My Father/ Happy Anniversary Natayo

My Father was born on this day in 1921.
After his death in '97, I light a sugar cookie candle on his birthday.
Every year my Mom usta cook sugar cookies for the holiday's. They wouldn't last long with my Dad around.
Lighting a sugar cookie scented candle always reminds of him.

My Father was a veteran of both WWII and the Korean war. He was as tough as they come. Even though he had bits of his body blown away and walked kinda funny, he never complained.
He was truly a member of the greatest generation of MEN ever.

    I miss my Dad.
I gotta get a digital picture of him.

Also, on this day 3 years ago, when my wife was walking home from work, a furry little bag of bones ran out from under our back porch and climbed up my wife's jacket. My wife put him on the floor and that little, bony furball soon found every bit of edibles in the house.
He was a feral little cat about 8 months old.

We took him to the vet.
He had 2 different kinds of worms.
He got treated for the worms and given a clean bill of health.

He soon became Zachary's little buddy:

    Until Zachary died last March.

    Natayo:
    Blackfoot word for cat.
Creative huh, I named our cat, cat.

Happy Birthday to your Dad. Back when I was in 9th grade some friends and I were riding bikes to a place abut 20 miles away. It was just after daylight and I heard a yowl. Tracked it down to a little black and white kitten that could have been Natayo's twin. She had been abandoned on the side of the road. To the disgust of my mother I brought her home anyway. Named her Trouble. She spent 16 years giving our family joy until she wandered off to where ever cats go for the last time. She was a gift, and I am sure Natayo is too.

Happy Birthday to your late father...............

We lost my Dad this past spring, one week shy of his 93rd birthday. He was in Italy during WWII (Army Air Corps)...............and was a proud Vet.

7 years ago, I had a long hair black & white stray cat wander in and adopt me......can't quite call her feral but she wasn't domestic either (however she's quite domestic now). I was just as creative as you when naming her........."MeowMeow" (just plain "Meow" for short).........she also answers to "PstPst" said quietly.........I had her spayed and she's become a house cat.

    Looks similar to yours.....

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a Ride! ~ Hunter S. Thompson

    When Zachary died:

Poor little Natayo spent 3 days moaning pitifully and hiding in a dark back bedroom. He missed his big buddy. We used to call the two of them "Skipper and Gilligan" they had that kind of dynamic.

So off to the Humane Society of Morgan County. We decided to get him a little girl friend.
We ended up bringing 2 cats home.
That's Sandy on the left and her sister Sarah on the right:

All 3 of them get along fine:
