Twenty-four thousand miles I had this goal of walking

Twenty-four thousand miles I had this goal of walking the distance of the earths circumference which is twenty-four thousand and eight hundred and so odd miles. AKA as recreational walking, not your normal day to day incurred in your daily life (home - work & etcetera). I kept a log over an extended period of fifteen years and some odd months which averages thirty and some odd miles a week. The seasons of the year which averaged the best mileage Spring and Fall.

There were periods of time I walked more and some periods I just quit and took a break from it. Shoes don't last long. On average twenty-two minute miles. I know most every dog in the area, most every driver to wave to and occasionally people stopped to offer me a ride home. All the walking didn't stopped from having a stint put in. The walking just prolonged the occurrence of having to do it.

So yesterday with a short two and one half mile walk I made it!

Congratulations! Some serious determination to stick to a goal for that length of time. Well done.

Good for you! It really is inspiring.

So... how long do you reckon it will take to get back home?

Congratulations. I used to walk every day anywhere from 4 to 7 miles but had to stop due to arthritis in my back and hip. Wish I could have continued but I'm glad someone was able to meet his goal.
