The authority I work for is an open shop. The union represents the represented personnel and if one so desires, they can donate $50 a month to the union to say they are a member and vote in the elections for all the Johnny Friendlies they want. They sent representatives down here to offer their new benefit: A membership time payment, rent to own sales club. Gee, the chance to go into debt at the old company, er, uh, union store. Just what I've been yearning and burning for. I told the rep I belong to Costco and Sam's for the price of 2 month's union dues annually. That kinda wilted their pitch to the others within earshot, making me the poop in their punchbowl. Oh! them radicals.
