I took a 12 Gauge J. C. Higgins pump shotgun as part of a trade when I sold my 62 Fairlane a few years ago. It was made in 1947 (the first year it was made) and it happened to be the year I was born. It was a plain pump action that still worked well. I gave it to my grandson and I think he will keep it forever along with the Henry lever action rifle I am giving him when he gets his Eagle Scout this summer.
