    Just a leetle grumpy, today...

    Short version:

Got my iron pointed in the direction of fur twice today, came up empty handed.

Scope's only got ONE JOB, don't lose zero. Pest #1 sashays off, unharmed. Thanks a pant-load,
NIKON. Yanno, if the scope couldn't hold zero on 375 H&H recoil, that would be one thing, but 5.56?
    Come on.

Rifle's only got ONE JOB, don't jam, in the clutch. Pest #2 dances away, free. With all the blather
and hooting about how great COLT is, I must admit, I'm waiting to be impressed.

Needless to say, could have had a better day hunting.

Maybe I should have said "pest control". Feral cats ain't stupid. I probably blew my one and only chance of ever nailing him.
I guess the frustration comes from the rifle running like clockwork at the range EVERY TIME, just to stick, right when
I really needed it to perform. Leaves me thinking those 400$ ARs are just as good as those spendy 1200$ Colts...

Toss the scope. I can't stand poor optics. Good scopes cost many hundreds of dollars..even thousands, for a reason, and it's not because they are made of gold. I once owned a Hensoldt..biggest mistake I made was selling it with the rifle it came with but they were a factory package..and I hated the rifle. Nothing like dependable optics!

This wasn't a "cheap" scope, per se, but I am starting to reconsider my whole scope paradigm.
Seems like I just zeroed this thing a few weeks ago.

I am also very fussy about my mounts and only use one piece bases. (My favorite are Spuhr) If it's not the scope losing zero..then it's the mount moving. Yes..expensive...but what is peace of mind worth??

My AR10T is a one hole wonder...

Hey, you're right. What is your favorite scope brand, right now?

I really like the Trijicon line. Affordable, easy to use and rock solid.

It's funny..people will think nothing about spending $3k for a fine rifle..but then put $200 optics on it and wonder why they can't dependably hit jack...

I'm not saying everyone should buy a Swarovski..but I'm amazed how many Hammers or BSAs I've seen on the line, with owners swearing at their ammo or rifle.

That sucks. I've never had a problem with my Nikon scopes.

Nikons are usually good (easy lifetime warranties too) ..so it may be the mounts.
