Plastic is for leftovers, not guns or holsters.

LEATHER - Cowhide or horsehide. EL Paso, Don Hume are my current favorite but Bianchi and Safariland are also faves in their older classic designs.

I have both types but prefer leather holsters. I like plain smooth lined cowhide. Nothing fancy so that I don’t have worries about damage.

I have a Uncle Mikes holster for rough weather. Holds my little four inch 66 real well. Otherwise, I very much prefer leather holsters. Very partial to Bianchi 111 Cyclone holsters and El Paso Saddlery Tom Three Persons holsters. Have a Austin style holster maker marked Colorado for my 1911-A1. Very nice. Matching belt. Just like good leather. Sincerely. bruce.

Leather for me also. Never had a Kydex holster and not a good fit for my CC needs. Just like anything else, you gotta find what works best for you.

I have both but limit the kydex to IWB. It’s thinner.
