First Steel Shoot for Oldest Grandson

Oldest Grandson, Derek, and I have been going to range more and he liked the Ruger Mark IV and 10/22 so decided time for him to get some good shooting in. We have a group of people that shoot Steel Targets outdoors with 22s. This is all timed and each set up you have five attempts at bettering your score. This means we each shoot about 250 minimum shells each. Everyone there is a lot of fun and want to get and keep our youth interested in shooting while learning safety primary and developing your shooting skills. Well he got 3rd place in the youth division and won a box of 100 CCI mags. Well he really enjoyed it to say the least. We do these once a month and now he wants to everyone of them. So I win too as I get to go to each one with him. It is 5 hours of a lot of fun, shooting, and quality time with Derek. Really glad he liked it and know this will improve his shooting skills and will let us spend more time together. No pics this time as were sharing guns and we were busy reloading magazines to keep the other shooting.
    Regards,
    Rodney

Now that is about as good as it gets. You get to spend some quality time with Derek and fortify his love for shooting at the same time. Experiences I'm sure both of you will cherish for a lifetime.

That's great! I am sure there will be many more times with your grandson. Great times and memories for all. Thanks for sharing the experience.

There is nothing like shooting and grandkids. I am glad he enjoyed it but you enjoyed it more.

That sounds like a lot of fun and a challenge to. Congrats to your grandson on placing 3rd.

With the cost of ammo so high, dont expect a warning shot.
