Question Who Makes the Cleanest Ammo, and Who Makes the Dirtiest Ammo?

I'm going to ask to pick your brains on this one...I for one truly dislike any ammo that makes a real mess of my handguns after a couple of hours on the range. While it is true that all ammo is "dirty" when fired, and there will always be some powder residue left on the gun, especially around the forcing cone, and the barrel in particular can get nasty when using lead bullets or wad cutters, I will always lean towards using only USA made ammo, and only FMJ when practicing, saving a few rounds of premium "hollow" points, followed by a few rounds of FMJ to sort of clean up the barrel. What say you?

State your opinions, citing brands you use, the type of bullet you use, and why they are either the cleanest or the dirtiest ammo.

Winchester white box .45 acp gets my vote as some of
the dirtiest ammo I have ever fired in my pistols. I dont
know what kind of propellant they use, but its NASTY
    stuff.

I say Wolf ammo, in any caliber; I swear, they must use coal dust as an additive in their powder.

I've heard some folks complain about WW-White Box, but it and Russian Tula, Brown Bear & Silver Bear have all burned clean in every caliber I've bought it in.

The dirtiest I've used was with handloads I made from vintage "Hercules Unique" and "2400" gun powders.

    It was the
"SMOKIEST" - "SMOKELESS" powder I've every use.

If you missed the bad guy, you could escape in it's
    "Smoke-Screen".

I quit buying both Remington & Winchester ammo & my guns have been running cleaner. CCI & Federal (in that order) work best for me.

The Winchester white box in 9mm doesn't seem too bad, but I'm with Hartlock on the 45acp. Its pretty dirty, but shoots good in my 1911

Hornady Superformance ammo is the cleanest ammo I've ever shot.

Ammo for my Nagant rifle that came in a spam can out of Russia was by far the dirteist.
For brand name ammo the Tula was the dirtiest. But it was consistant with accuracy.
Teach them the truth, and let them sort thru the cobwebs of liberalism that have infested their minds.
When the time comes that I don't want a new gun, call the undertaker!
When they come for your guns, give them the ammo first!

Dirtiest in my .44HE is Winchester Cowboy Loads, leave more crud behind than real blackpowder does.

Dirtiest in my .30/30 is Federal PowerShok 150gr plated flat nose. Cleanest commercial load is Winchester Power Point 170gr plated flat nose. Can't hit a deer in the butt at 2 feet with either, need to load some 180gr LRN, preferably over blackpowder... the gun actually likes those, can hit a 12" gong at 300 yards w/o trying.
I am NOT totally useless... I make a great bad example.

Speer frangible is the cleanest stuff I have ever seen. The cases look like they just came out of the tumbler. Second to that, anything I load with Green Dot and Tennessee Valley Bullets.
