I know its silly but ... I dont think I can buy ammo that is called P.P.U. Call me silly and I am well past 13 years old but .. it does make me giggle.
Bob..
In life you always get what you pay for and most times, cheap is not quality. PPU is made in Russia. Like Agulia (Hencho Mexico) sometimes good, sometimes not.

Is the European ammo generally hotter than it's American equivalent? I think I've seen that posted somewhere before. I have a batch of .357 mag I haven't tried yet.
I bought a couple boxes of 6.5 X 55 a couple years ago because they were very inexpensive. They shoot well and I have had no issues with reloading the brass.
Quality control issues are not confined to foreign ammo. I have good old "Made in the USA" ammo that wasn't up to snuff. Seems that when the bean counters get too much say in the manufacturing process, things tend to go downhill.

I do use the 338 Lapua cases to reload with but with much reworking.
