ryperp Have you ever wanted a firearm so badly that you went out and bought it, without caring what anybody else thought.
Then after shooting it you found that you hated it, and wanted to get rid of it right away. You were willing to sell it, even for a loss just to get rid of it.

I have a Winchester Model 190, .22 rifle that is exactly this story.
I wanted a .22 semi auto rifle and it was not too expensive.
I figured since it's a Winchester It had to be a pretty good rifle.
Was I ever wrong. It constantly jams, and fails to fire.
I went to clean it this past Saturday. It took me 3 hours to get it back together, and I'm still not sure it's right. I'm taking it to my gunsmith to make sure before I kill myself because I put it together wrong.

Have any of you done the same - bought one you regret?

4" Nickle Colt Trooper III. In the mid 70's. I couldn't find a 4" Combat Magnum to save my soul. That Colt was a UAW gun and the worst piece of junk I'd ever seen. Wouldn't extract, the action actually got worse the more I used it. Paid $369 NIB which was a pile of cash back then.

Traded it for a 39-2 which ran pretty well. In fact it would feed an empty case.

Charter Arms Bulldog .44 Special

I bought it new back in 1974, and watched it shoot itself loose during the few months I had it. Besides that, the brutal recoil was #$%& painful and would bring tears to your eyes.... ;)

Two new Smiths with internal locks. Got rid of both.

For me it was a trap gun. It was my foray into high end custom shotguns. I was working in Europe and the Middle East. One weekend I went into the gun makers shop located in London. I ordered the so called best little piggy they had. Several months later when it was done I came back to the shop to pick it up. I was not pleased with the fit or finish of the gun. It just lacked attention to detail. And did not fit me properly. After a lot of hassles they made it right. This took a week to correct the issues with the trap gun. Now I leave with the trap gun and fly back home. I was really stoked to shoot this new trap gun. I could not hit the broad side of a barn with that gun. I was really p*ssed off. I have some friends who are top trap and skeet shooters. I asked three of them to shoot this gun. They also had problems with the gun. They could not hit anything with it. Two weeks later I'm back in London at the shop. I walked in slammed the case on the counter and wanted my money back. After a couple hours of a bunch of BS. They took it back. Come to find out they had an apprentice gunsmith do this gun. Now I'm really mad. Not that the guy was a apprentice. But someone should have checked it out. After that ordeal I'm always very leery of any custom gun. Nothing worse than spending a lot of hard earned money. And waiting on your new toy. Only to find out it's a POS.

Believe it or not, mine was a colt python. The worse hand gun I've ever shot. That damn gun would go out of time if you looked at it wrong. :o

A Traditions "Davy Crockett" in 32 caliber. It sucks. It blows. It stinks. I wipe my ass with it. I hate it. I don't even like to look at it. Were it not for this thread, it would have remained safely and blissfully forgotten. It's around here somewhere. If I find it, I'll kill it.
