    Smith and Wesson Super 9

I recently purchased one of there pistols that had been locked in a safe for a lot of years and is basically perfect with only 300 rounds put through the 9x19 barrel. What i would like to know, is the 9x21 barrel a 38 super barrel, or are there special 9mm longer shells for it .

The 9X21 has nothing to do with the 38 super. Separate cartridge.

I know a couple of people who swear by this round.

The 9x21 is a new one for me Pilchard. Had heard about the Winchester 9x23, which is the grail according to Burns Custom Guns. I hope some other folks will expand on this caliber. Kinda hard to understand how two millimeters of length can make enough difference to warrant a whole new caliber. A mystery to my uneducated mind.

The 9x21 was designed as a replacement for the 9x19 to give equal ballistics in a hand gun in the places where the 9x19 are outlawed for civilian ownership such as Italy

As I understand it, the 38 Super is actually very close to a 9x22. I have a friend who shoots 38 Super & 9x23 from the same handgun (a Colt 1911), which has been altered by his gunsmith.

Thanks Bill, that is where my problem began, the 38 does fit but i was not comfortable with what this guy told me and that ml. can make the difference.

Now THERE is a law that makes a lot of sense, eh!!! Given the defference some in Congress give to European ideas, and the constant search for methods to control the populace, could this come to our country as well???
