I have a Shield that I just got last week. 150 rounds have been shot through it. It has had a stovepipe in each 50 round box I have shot with. Once with my sister that shot it. And 2 with me. I'm not sure if I limp wristed or what the heck is going on. I still love it and it is extremely accurate but not sure what is causing this to happen so frequently. I wonder if it will do it less once I put more rounds through it.

My experience is nearly identical to Jonesy814's...I bought my 9mm Shield last fall and have not had any issues at all. My only complaint is that I ordered a couple additional mags in each capacity at the beginning of February and still haven't received the 8 rounder. In my mind, waiting 6 months (and counting) for a standard part is a big fail on S&W's part.

Have a look on the "other" S&W forum. There are many posts about Shields there.

I have a Shield 40, I have only gone thru a few hundred rounds, " several brands of FMJ and HP" with no issues at all. I have a Glock 23 and the Shield has less snap than the 23, and accuracy is about equal. It is a pleasure to carry with my IWB infidel holster. I love the Shield.

I have it in 9mm and not a single issue. Mine does not have the mag disconnect also.

Is there a difference in triggers for the Shield? I thought I read somewhere that the early Shields had triggers that were not so good, but S&W changed them and now they are good. Don't know if that is true or not.

My Shield 9 is 100% A-OK. Nothing wrong with it at all. No FTF, No FTE, just pull the trigger and bang! I like that.
