    Holster for the SD9VE

Looking at getting a holster for my SD9VE and I see Bass Pro is having a special on Serpa holsters next weekend for their hunting special.

Will the S&W M&P holster work? I did a google search and the ones for sale on e-bay say they do but I find it hard to trust e-bay sometimes.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Most molded Kydex style holsters are very gun specific and the M&P will not fit the SD9VE. Nylon ones yes. There are so many choices out there. If you have any gun shows in your area that is a good start as you can try on lots of options.
Any idea on where you will carry. Inside the pants, belt, position, all of these come into play.
I feel the most important thing is understanding the proper draw method and placement for quick access that also fits your body shape and needs. Everyone is different.

Here is a description that I have written to help newer gun enthusists to pick a holster design.

I don't like to contradict anyone but the Blackhawk SERPA #25 for the M&P fits the SD9 VE very well. It's the model with the part # 410525BK-R, SKU# 4801805805 listed for "S&W M&P 9/40 and Sigma. It comes with belt slot and paddle attachments and fits both my SD9 VEs. I bought it at the same time that I bout my first SD9 VE and was able to try it out in the store. I'm quite happy with it.

    Best Regards,
    ADP3

My buddy has a Kydex for his M&P .40, I used it this weekend for my SD9, fits really well. The only difference I saw was that the barrel of my SD9 doesn't stick out of the front of the holster. the M&P barrel is like 1/2 an inch shorter than my SD9.
