I am new to this forum and need help

finding a S&W 45ACP M&P full size and I am not interested in a used gun please. New only and I would like one with a Crimson Trace lazer possibly if you can still use the different size back straps for a good fit to hand. But it looks like the CT laser grip might not come that way due to how it is installed? I for sure want a laser and would really like a green laser and would appreciate any and all suggestions on what brand and model to use and what you guys think about internal guide rod types like Laser Max instead of using on under the rail with a light combo which I don't really care for. Lastly, I can't find these at my LGS and I really am not interested in buying from the big Gun-broker site. Do you guys have any great dealers you know that stock the 45 full size M&P and are competitive and are trustworthy to deal with. I also do not want a manual safety and no wild cammo colors. Just black. I would appreciate some help please and thank you in advance.

You will find a host of helpful folks on this board. I would kindly suggest that you go to the "New Member" section and do a kinda formal intro and let the folks know a bit about yourself...Having said that- WELCOME!

Charlie, thank you for the post and I mean no offense, but I would hope I could get some help with this based on the need for help without having to introduce myself first although I have no problem doing that. Unless there is a rule that I am respectfully missing that says you have to do that before getting help with some needed information? Thank you

Shooter, where have you looked so far? We aren't a buying service, but we can suggest what works from experience and discussion with others. Try Gun Broker when you decide what you want. Veridian makes a good green laser, check them out.

I was'nt trying to bust your chops but I am a user and member of several boards and it sems to be a common thing that when you come on board you let the folks know about yourself as a way of introduction...kinda like walking up to a new friend and giving a nice handshake. Please take no offense. I apologize if I've overstepped.

    Regards,

    Charlie

The Crimson Trace laser uses the medium size backstrap as the basis for their sight.

    Shooter 1103,
first of all, welcome to the forum.

Crimson Trace does not yet have a Green laser for the S&W revolvers.
From what I've gathered on a few of the other forum I hang around in, it'll probably be another 6 months or so befroe they're readily available.
I'm curious, why a green laser on the revolver over the red? The red is more than adequate for sighting out to 25 yds or so. That's beyond what is considered a threat range in most jurisdictions. The real purpose of the green laser is for the extended distances out in the 50-100-200 yard range for rifles doing night hunting.
The only problems I see with guide rod lasers is this:
    1) They're going to take a huge amount of punishment from the .45 ACP recoil.
    2) The laser will quickly foul and become unusable very quickly from the powder muzzle blast as the bullet leaves the muzzle.
I had a Ruger LCP with a CT laser. The laser became nearly unusable after around 15-20 shots, from the gunpowder buildup on the lens.
I always kept a couple cotton swabs in my pistol case after that. The laser might not get completely blocked out, but the laser beam quickly gets diffused as the lens gets fouled.

Secondly, the cost of going to a green laser will be quite a bit more than the red, until the market catches up with supply and demand for them.
I have no qualms with wanting the green laser, but there's little advantage with them on a hand gun over the commonplace red laser.
And for the record, any sellers on gunbroker that will be listing and selling a new in the box M&P 45 that you're looking for have been around for quite a while. Most of them got that way by treating their customers fairly with good to excellent customer service and are very reliable and trustworthy. Don't knock them untill you've tried them.
try J&G Gun sales out of Prescott, AZ as well. They generally carry a good selection and fair pricing for what they are selling.

    Regards,
    Gearchecker

I have a very good grip thank you Vector 16 so not sure what your problem is, I am fine. Have a great day now and lighten up, you last remark is very childish and uncalled for with all due respect.

! thank you to those that helped and simply answered my questions for help. I need to buy a gun pretty quick and since this is a Smith & Wesson Forum I am looking for help from S&W users to cut down on the time to help me get to what I want and need faster and I hoped some of you guys had some solid dealers and feedback to help me with what I need. I have no problem doing a new member info post and while I appreciate the welcome to do so, I have no self defense gin right now and need to make this purchase quick and make sure I am buying from a solid dealer and again, was looking for that from helpful members who are in the know, that is all guys. For those that got offended. I am sorry it was not intended for that purpose and if that is the way you took my post, I am member of many forums and would simply say use the ignore feature on your options. I simply need some help fast to make this purchase. I am not a fan of buying from anyone except reputable dealers and for that reason not a fan of GunBroker. I saw Bud's listed but he has been out of this gun for weeks now, but I appreciate the heads up for Bud's as I have heard great things about him as a dealer. Yes I can Goggle dealers all day, but it does not always tell me how dependable and reputable the dealer is, that is where I site like this is invaluable. Again, thank you to those who posted to help and acted and treated me with respect. I just simply need some solid feedback and help, nothing more with the situation I am dealing with. Thanks guys.

Thank you Gearchecker for your welcome and insight. On GunBroker I actually have tried a couple of dealers on there as this is not like the first gun I have ever purchased with absoultely no offense intended by that comment. I have owned and purchased Sig's, Glock's, Ed Brown's, Berreta, HK, S&W, and Remington to name a few. The two times I dealt with so called reputable dealers on there, I got burned both times and it was an act of congress to get the issues resolved to to mention what it cost me. I will never got there again. I am interested in just finding a solid dealer some of you guys deal with straight up that actually have one in stock. The reason for the green laser is the ability to use and see in daylight vs a Red laser and my experience with the green vs red. I like it a lot better as in the green with my eyesight not being the best at me age and health issues. Good information of the guide rod laser and I appreciate your insight there. Thanks again for your response and welcome.
