    22a misfires

I was just wondering if anyone else that owns a 22a has a problem with misfires or FTF. It dosent seem what brand ammo i get at least 2 FTF from every mag.
The gun has been sent back to S&W because of this and they replaced the firing pin. It also was firing 2-3 shells at a time but that has been resolved.
    Any input would be appreciated

I know this gets asked a whole bunch, but have you tried CCI Mini-mags?
It's the only ammo that feeds 100% with my 22A and nearly all of my rifles. I'm going to quit wasting money on other 22 ammo, even if it's on sale because I have nothing but trouble with everything but the mini-mags.
Just about all Eley ammo types areawesome ammo too with a great rep, but it's way too expensive for plinking. I'll stick to the CCI

.22's are not unlike children. What they like to be fed is usually VERY limited. Find something yours likes and buy bulk.

I use the Federal 550 bulk pack from Walmart. They work fine in my 22A and my friends 22A. Just a dud once in awhile.

When you look at the cartridges that did not fire are you seeing a good firing pin contact mark? I have a Ruger 22/45 and using Remington cartridges, and will have a couple that will not fire, but am seeing a good contact mark. Put them in my old Remington Nylon 66 an still will not fire. I cannot help but think that the Bulk Ammo does not go through the same Q.C. as others.

I buy the "Wally-World" bulk Federal plated hollow points by the case because two Grandsons can use a lot of ammo when they visit. I get a "dud" about once or twice every thousand rounds, which usually fires on the second try.

I recently switched to CCI Blazer ammo in my 22a and have had no problems at all.
