    School me on the 41

I have the chance to buy a older 41 , I have not actually seen it yet and only fired one a few years ago . I was told this one is missing the cocking indicator , It has a 7 inch barrel . In the pictures the blue looks great and grips look like crap . I will be meeting the owner in few days to do a personal inspection , any tutorials on how to properly inspect it and what to look for would be great . I look forward to owning a 41 but want to get a decent one . any help or suggestions would be great. I am not new by any means to handguns or 22s but new to the 41
    thanks

You pull the slide back and lock it. Then pull down on the trigger guard. Its kind of stiff so you gotta pull pretty good and it swings down then the barrel and spring will come off. Only takes a second then you can look for wear. You can buy other barrels for them and they dont have to be fitted just switch.
If you look through the members list here and find Hammer Down. He repairs and refinishes grips so you can send him a message and see what he can do with the grips for you.I have heard if you shoot a lot of hotter ammo in them it can beat them pretty bad. There is a buffer that dont cost much you can install easily. DHenry mentioned it once. He is a member here and can tell you about them. I need to get a couple myself come to think of it.If you want to spend some money on it there is a company called Clarks that make barrels for them with mounts etc. But they are pricey.
