    S&W Shield 9mm 3.1" questions

I've never had a S&W pistol, but the rebate finds me wanting one. Does it come with two magazines? I assume the fatter grips are part of the package? How much are additional magazines?

I am going with the 9mm although I've never had one of those either. Around here, the price of 9mm ammo is much better than .40 and .45. I also think the 9mm will be easier to shoot in the smaller frame.

Comes with one 7 round mag, and one 8 round mag. Price with rebate now is in the $225 range, and really hard to pass it up as a single-stack carry, in 9mm.

Wish I could have found those prices locally. Paid $430 before the rebate. Stupid MD fees

    Thanks,
My LGS sent me an email at $235 (net of rebate) with a free T-shirt. They also have good prices on ammo and should stock extra magazines and the loader.

No delays since I have a carry permit. Just point, pay, and drive home.

I have seen spare Shield magazines ranging from $17.99 all the way up to $35.

The Shield 9mm is not exactly a single-stack but rather a hybrid. Using the eight round magazine as an example. The top three rounds are in single column but the bottom five rounds are offset from each other.
