    Combat Masterpiece from '53.

I've had this 4 inch K-22 for awhile and finally found a box for it to live in. I thought it was in good enough condition and had nice stocks, what the heck, buy a box for her!

If you can't find (or afford) the old original package - make one yourself!

Now that's a fine looking handgun you got there. The box just makes it nicer. Almost as old as I am. And a lot less wear and tear.

When I bought a Model 15 this weekend I asked the clerk (jokingly) "Got the box for it?" He replied "No, I don't think so." Then I heard him asking someone to "Look in the back and see if we've got a box for this." I winked and told him, "No, I don't want "A" box. I want THE box." He laughed and said "Oh! THE box. No, we don't have that. We might have one of the blue plastic Smith & Wesson boxes." Naw. I've got a dozen of them at home now, I replied.

A good looking gun deserves a good quality container. Nicely done!

That is a nice one. The model 15 is even nicer.

I like the box, but like Wedndy said the Model 15 is even nicer.
It's better served outside the box last I knew, enjoy it at the range.

Gregory and Wendy, unless I'm confused/mistaken, that's not a Model 15, but a 4" K22 profiled in the box. It does look like a K38 Combat Masterpiece, but reading the OP and looking closely for the pin, I'm pretty sure it's a K22. GGF will know.

Very true, BC2. I was mistaken. Brunette here having a blonde moment...reminds me of the thread in the Lounge.

Well Wendy, "fat here and having a bald moment", throw in the fact that my eye sight now competes with that of a mole, it's amazing I could spot the difference! The reason is I'm on the hunt for a K22 so bad that I'm honing my spotting skill, unfortunately with some recent family events, I couldn't buy one even if it showed up on the doorstep. Thanks for taking it with a smile, after I posted my response I had regrets; I have ZERO room to point out any S&W mis-identification....
