    Re: Smython or Smolt

I never had one but I competed against a couple during my PPC days. The one was owned by a fellow who thought it was the cat's whiskers but was disillusioned because he could not keep pace with other shooters. Then there was the one owned by a shooter. I swear he could have competed with an RG and still placed in the top!

I shot it a couple of times but never saw the difference between it and my L frames except cost. For a while they were written about but not a lot were actually put together.

BTW, the thread are not interchangeable, the Colt needed to have new threads chased on it to fit the S&W frames.

I can't remember how the front lock on the S&W cylinder pin issue was resolved since Colt barrels are diiferent?

It would either not use a front lock up or use a ball detent in the yoke.

    Re: Smython or Smolt

I once had an 8" Python barrel screwed onto an old colt Trooper. Neither cost much at the time. Was a novelty more than anthing. Sold it soon after. Don't miss it much.
