Picked up Model 36 3" got a problem!

The cylinder doesn't want to come out when I use the release button very well, I mean that it comes out, but not very smoothly. My ruger GP100's cylinder comes out very smoothly. Also sometimes when I take the cylinder out from the frame it feels like the cylinder is hitting the very bottom of the frame and making contact. What could the problem be? Could it be that the ejector rod is bent a little or something to that nature. I'm sure its something small, but any insight would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Faught2617

Have you checked to see if your ejecter rod is tight? Often this will cause the end to rub against the recoil shield. A small amount of powder residue under the star could be your problem. It doesn't allow the star to retract completely into the cutout in the cylinder. Bob

Thanks everybody for looking and trying to help out, I got on here and looked up FAQ and it had a trouble shooting section and it turned out to be the cylinder release screw was loose, works great now! It's always the smallest thing that happens.

    Thanks again, Faught2617

I don't know why, but the J's seem to have that problem more frequently than others. Have seen them back out a few times at the range.
