    School Me, Please

What are the lightest 6 SHOT S&W revolvers--old or new?

I had a 337 for a while. It held five rounds and, at about 10.5 ounces, was a real handful to shoot.

I'd like to get a somewhat heavier gun (not too heavy) that holds six rounds.

    thanks in advance...

Probably the Models 12 and 315.

Al, I have a snubnose Model 12 in square butt and it is indeed lightweight. I've put rubber Hogues on it because the wood stocks were wearing hard on the inside of my thumb. Snubby or not, it does shoot nice due to the K-frame action. I love J's, but the trigger pull can't be compared.

I love my 640 .357 mag. It weighs 23 oz. and shoots .357 and .38 with less recoil than any other J frame. Even at 23 oz. you forget you're wearing it after a while.

If I am not mistaken I believe that it is a 338PD Air Lite Ti. Titanium cylinder and scandium alloy frame. With an empty weight of 10.65 oz.
