    Round to Square butt conversion grips for S&W 686-5 by Eagle Grips

    Hi, I'm new to this forum. I recently purchased a pair of round butt to square butt conversion grips for my S&W 686-5. These grips are made by Eagle Grips.
    I had to send my revolver to Eagle Grips to make their 'Heritage Grips' fit my 686-5, so this became a rather expensive project. However the end product was excellent, and I'm happy with the improved appearance of my 686-5. I have posted some pictures...

    welcome to the forum uj53! nice looking grips. there is also a place called handgun grips .com that has some nice smith grips in the 30-60 dollar range.

    I'll join in and say that the grips look fantastic.



    These are heritage grips on my pre-war 38/44 - I didn't buy these grips for this gun. The heritage grips I bought would not fit the N-frame revolver I ordered the grips for. I used a dremel, I used sand paper trying to get the grips to fit. I wasn't making much progress because I was taking the wood down carefully. I suddenly got the inspiration to try to put the grips on a pre-war N-frame - SHAZAM!

    My 19 had Gripper Pros on when I bought it but liking steel , wood , and leather to carry it in , I got these from S&W. Makes it look "right" to me. 'hide is DeSantis.

    Thank you! I looked at the grips offered by handgungrips.com. Many varieties with good quality, and as you said the prices are reasonable.
