Thanks for the compliments everyone .

    Mick ,
I can see that you need help in the fine art of wooing the belle . A specialty here in the South .
Before you take the lady to the dance , she must first be pampered at the spa .
My lady has been properly bathed and adorned .
But one mustn't appear too eager .
So I'll wait a bit before , um , taking her out for a spin .
    It's a subtle dance , Mick .
( and I promised Emma , I would wait til she comes home in 2 wks before shooting it ! Ladies first I suppose . )

    FlaRon ,
Sorry , but Mr. Kane gets first dibs on the crumbs .
Ya know , looking at a dog waiting for a meal is an uplifting experience . Seriously .
Such a simple thing is SO exciting to them !

    DocZeus ,
I may have the gun but I ain't no Dirty Harry .
I'm sure I will be employing 2 hands on this outing !
    AND ear protection !

    EXNJ
Well , I must admit that I am pursueing a 686 , another full underlug . I have to find out what all the hooha is
    about these L frames .

    Regards ,
    George

Not the food table George the S&W "gun" table.

Last thing I would do was put myself between Mr. Kane and food.

    Regards,

    Ron

Seems to me that this could have been a special run made by S&W for Lew Horton Dist. or RSR dist. called the guide gun or something like that. S&W made some pretty unique guns for these distributors in the past, offefed in 3" or 6" w/unfluted cyls. and full underlugs

I'm new here, just signed up and noticed this question, and thought I could shed some light.

    It's a "Classic Hunter" model. S&W made 5000 in 1988, along with a matching 5000 686's (6in, full lug, unfluted) in 357. Product code was (is) 103616.

    Hope this helps. MG
