yeah my 19-3 is one of my favorites, even though mines a 4"r, I would love to have a shorter barrel like my 66 2-1/2". I have seen smith's going up and up in my area, I nab them whenever I can if they are around $500.
Colin,
Anything you pay for it that's less than $650 would be a good buy up here, if it's in good or better condition.
For the record my 19-4 will never part from me as long as I'm still breathing. My daughter will inherit it.
The 66-2 is my wife's wood's carry gun. That might give you an idea where they fit in the grand scheme of things.
Make the best deal you can and bring it home if at all possible. Mark up at most Pawn shops is far in excess of 100%, usually closer to 200%.
$500 sounds like your best starting position. Have cash in hand too. Green speaks volumes. Credit cards cost them 3-4% extra in handling fees. Let them know you're going to save them at least that much by paying in cash.
Best wishes,
Gregory
My firearms are an investment on my life.
When the time comes that I don't want a new gun, call the undertaker!
The average response time for 911 is 20 min., the average response time for .357 magnum is 1400 FPS.
