A little polishing on my 617

Since my 617 wasn't exactly satin, and wasn't exactly polished, I gave it a little kick in the polished direction.

    Nice!.
How long did it take you to accomplish your goal?
Were there any spots on it that gave you more trouble than the others?
I've never attempted to polish either of my stainless revolver, so I'm curious.
It clearly reflects that your efforts have paid off.

Head about 240 miles further west and I'll be waiting along the superslab for a ride with my meager collection.

    Thanks!
It didn't take too long, I was at it for maybe an hour or two tops. The barrel was the only part that didn't want to shine up completely, it seems like a different alloy than the frame and cyl, but it's good enough for me.
I ended up using an old dremel buffing wheel on a drill (kind of crude but my dremel is dead) and Mother's Mag polish, no scratches were really deep enough to warrant any wet sanding.
I have enough hard cider left if the beer runs out

    ExNJ,
Do you want the beer to be Moose Drool, or Rocky Mountain Billy Goat P!$$

NWDave, We'll make the detour, especially for you!

Those things will shine if you put the bufing wheel to them -- I've touched mine up in a few spots with a big buffer, like the bottom of the trigger guard and the front of the crane . . .

Didn't want to get into it too much 'cause that buffing compound is a bear to clean out of stampings, screw holes, edges, etc.

Word of caution, under NO CIRCUMSTANCES do you want to buff the front of the cylinder -- made that mistake years ago on an old wheelie, and the accuracy went to pot . . .
