You'll have to let us know how it goes with shooting it. My son had a 44 Mountain Gun , it was unbearable to shoot with anything but the lightest loads. Goodluck with it. Its sure is purdy !

    Hi brushunter:

I guess it's an individual thing................

I have a .44 Mag Mountain Gun and it's certainly bearable for me to shoot. Indeed, full house loads can be a handful, but I suspect that with practice and familiarization, it will become more fun to shoot. A set of soft grips (Pachs or Hogues) may be in order..........note my above photo (3" barrel 629).

Here's my Mountain Gun (probably about the same as your sons) IM005409MountainGun.jpg

    Best Regards,

    Geezer

    BigNed,
that's goin gto be one mighty fine shooter. Congratulations on the detour and the way you didn't let it distract you too much.
Or did getting the TALO throw you off the path? Did you get your Catalog of S&W 3rd edition?
If you forgot about it, you're addicted just like the rest of us! lol

I always considered the 44 Mountain Gun above to be a 44-special that can also shoot 44 magnums. Ned, I look at your 629-6, 3 inch the same way.
