I'd like to welcome you to the forum too. Your 686-6 is about as good an all around 357 revolver going right now, it's strong, is versatile, accurate and tames recoil. Very touching story about your wife's gift - a keeper indeed!
Regards, Hank
Thanks again everyone. I'm still waiting to bring it home. Here in Canada, the transfer has to be approved and takes a few days and then the purchaser can take it home. Then I can only fire it at approved ranges. No CCW here, no carry, or shooting handguns out on the farm, and no 4" barrels (4.2" minimum). The sh*thead Liberal Party of Canada which was in power back in 1995 screwed up our gun laws so bad it will take decades to straighten out. On a positive note, my member of parliament (like a congressman), invited me to the House of Commons (like your House of Representatives) in Ottawa to watch our current majority Conservative Party government vote to abolish the federal long-gun registry (handgun registry still in effect). This will take place this coming Wednesday. That evening I will be at a reception with all the Members of Parliament and I assume the Prime Minister as well. Should be a pretty cool time.

Well, I finally brought the 686 home today. I don't mean to brag but I have to tell you about my good fortune and the generosity of the man who sold me this gun. I originally made the deal on the 686 Plus, barely used, and an HK speedloader. By the time he let me out of the door I left with the gun, speedloader, snap caps, Lee Deluxe die set, turret, cleaning supplies, 1500 pieces of clean .38 brass, 17 Cabela's fifty round ammo containers, 700 rounds of quality reloads (158 gr. LWC, 3.7 gr. W231, cci primers) and a real nice tool box to fit most of this stuff in. All for the original agreed upon price of the 686 and speedloader.....$600 which around here is a great deal of itself. I don't know how the prices are where you folks live, but I am very aware of this man's generosity in this deal where I come from. The last time I sold a handgun it was my first M&P 9, and I threw in a Blade-Tech holster the buyer wasn't expecting. I guess that came back around this time, plus!
