Let's See Those "J"- And "K"-Frame Rimfire Shooters!

I've always had an affinity for .22 Rimfire S&W's, and not many of them have been relegated to "safe queen" status.....I like to SHOOT them, some more than others! Quite a bit cheaper to shoot these days, too.

Here's a few of my "shooter grade" S&W Rimfires:

    Clockwise from Bottom Right:

A 4" Pre-Model 43 Flat-Latch .22/.32 Kit Gun, .22 Long Rifle, Serial # Range (168XX) puts it shipped about 1956 I believe; the fit and finish on this one is exceptional, and quite the shooter to boot.....A 4" Model 63 No-Dash, .22/.32 Kit Gun Stainless, .22 Long Rifle, Serial # Range (M162XXX) puts it shipped in 1981......A 4" Blued Model 18-3 K-22 Combat Masterpiece, .22 Long Rifle, Serial # Range (K904XXX) puts it shipped in 1969 (The "Summer Of Love" ).....and a 4" Model 651-1 .22 M.R.F. Target Kit Gun Stainless, Serial # Range (BPCXXXX) shipped about June 1993. Outstanding Shooters, all.....and unlike my Ruger Mark II's, no brass to sweep up.

So, let's see some of YOURS!

Just the one model 17 here:

You do have a great collection!

What do you think you should do?
Raise the ceiling or pump out the crap?

Thanks, Wendy! Love your 17, too!

I'm always on the hunt for an 8-3/8" K-22, preferably an OLD one (mid- to late-60's model) to match my 8-3/8" K-38 Model 14.

I've got a couple of .22's... here are the ones that are handy. Not all J&K frames though.

None of my S&Ws just sit around. All of them get shot at least occasionally.

    Nice round of pics!

I've two. My first was this 17-3, complete with all the goodies.

Later I added this model 1953 kit gun with a serial number in the 2000 range. I'm thinking it may have been made the year I was born, 1954, or just before. Unfortunately it no longer has the original stocks but then I 'm sporting a few replacement teeth my self.

Sometimes the J frame kit gun out shoots the K22. It depends on what I'm feeding them.
I'd like to add a model 18 and a 2" kit gun to the herd eventually. Just for variety.
