    Post Thinking about a model 64-2

    Hi all.Hope you can help. I'm thinking of adding a 64-2 2inch snubby to my collection.Price seems fair at 589 otd including tax and nics. Question is, can anyone tell me when it was made?Serial number is 7D72283.Thank you for any info.

    According to the Standard Catalog of S&W looks like 1981 if I'm correct.

    Welcome to the forum.

    A 64-2 with 2" barrel would be a very good carry piece IMHO if the gun is in very good condition. The price in my area is on the high side however if that price is OTD considering the gun is not seen that often so if you like it I would say get it.

    I have a 65 with 3" barrel and round butt and it is one of my favorites.

    Thanks all for the info! It seems to be in very good condition.Only thing is various scratches/character marks.Considering it's from 81 I can understand,was definitely carried.
