1857-1860. I won't venture a value since this isn't collector country but I'd guesstimate about the price of a used pickup to the right people.
I have a model 1 with ser number 1526. I was wondering value and date, it is about 85% on condition.

Is your Model 1 nickel or blued finish?
85% Nickel is worth a fair bit less that an 85% blued model. Condition is king. Go over to some of the gun auction sites and look it up. Keep an eye on the active selling prices.
Something else to learn is how to properly photograph it and what details you need to show of this pistol before anybody can give you a very accurate idea of it's real value.
I just saw a S&W Model 1 go for $7300 last week. It was in near mint condition from a reputable collector. It brought in about double from what I thought it would sell for. We never know, the buyers are the ones setting the values of these collectables, not necessarily the sellers.
I won't even venture to guess it's value without seeing some very detailed photos of the entire revolver.

Question which model 1? First issue, second issue or third issue? There are at least 2 series of serial numbers starting with 1 for the model 1.
