    Grail gun found

I'll start by apologizing for the lack of pictures. As far as I can determine you can't post them here with an iPad and it's my only computer. Went to a small gun show yesterday and found a 3rd Model .44 HE. My studies show only about 5000 of this model were made and I have been looking for one for a good while. Gun has been refinished as evidenced by the blued trigger and hammer. Serial number of 28XXX puts it in the first 600 made. Dealer had it identified as the much more common 2nd model. Rather than just taking advantage of his ignorance (I've been there plenty of times!) I explained what he actually had and then offered to trade a late model refinished Python for his .44 HE. He was happy, I was nearly giddy, a good deal each way. It only takes money to buy Pythons, there are hundreds for sale at any given time. You seldom see 3rd Model .44s for sale.

    Widetrack,
    Great score on the HE.
When you said Grail gun I thought you found a K-32 masterpiece for sale.
But you certainly scored well on a very difficult to find model there.
We all have the one that got away. Thankfully, you won't need to say that about your HE.

    Congratulations,
    Gregory

Thanks Gregory, the .32 Masterpiece will be on the grail list for a very long time I suspect. But if the truth were known I'd rather find a nice triplelock. I just prefer the N frame revolvers to their smaller brothers. My favorite pusher has a pre Model 24 that I suspect will be the next purchase.

    That's great Widetrack55, a rare find indeed.

Make a trade and both parties walk away happy........can't get much better than that.

    Good for you Amigo.

Someday when you can, I'd like to see some pictures of it.

    Enjoy it in good health,

    Geezer
