I saw this gun today, it's finish is amazing. I don't think it was ever in a holster, ever sat in a sock drawer or did much of anything other than just sit.

You probably already know that the SCSW lists that s/n in the broad range of 1915-1942........maybe somebody has more info.
It looks really good........that was quite a find, alright.
Yep, that danged Devil just seems to control us sometimes.......chuckle
Nice find gygaz59.

Mick got it down to 1914-1929. The numbers are much closer to the 1914 though.
I hate it when the devil makes us do things like buy another gun we really don't need.
But what does need have to do with it, when it comes to buying another gun anyway!
Great find. And if Mick says it's clean it's got to be in impressive condition.

My firearms are an investment on my life.
When the time comes that I don't want a new gun, call the undertaker!
The average response time for 911 is 20 min., the average response time for .357 magnum is 1400 FPS.

Have you pulled the stocks off yet? Serial should be hand written (in pencil) on the right side stock.
Gregory, that revolver has about 98%-99% finish, roll marks are sharp as a razor, depth even on it's entire length and both sides, all serial numbers match, bottom of the grip frame, cylinder, under the extractor and under the barrel.
The only problems I could see with the gun are; It's too good to shoot (IMHO) and I have a problem with early S&W fixed sights (I can not see them well enough to use them)

Mick says - The only problems I could see with the gun are; It's too good to shoot
Now that is a heck of a "problem" isn't it !
Sorry sir , I'd like to buy your gun but it's too nice .....
Honey , I really wanted that one , but it was jus too purdy ....
Mick , I bought a Model 28 recently , intending to shoot it , but it turned out to be in even better shape than described , so for now it's sitting in the safe .
Nice looking gun gygaz59 . Enjoy , no matter what purpose u have for it .

First line of defense , my faithful Pit - don't mess with Mr. Kane !
Lovin' it here in N. Ga - I wasn't born here , but I got here as fast as I could .
Mick, I seriously think she needs to be taken to the dance. If you don't want to take her out, I volunteer to bring my cheaters and take her cylinder for a spin.
gygaz59, Now THAT is a real beautiful Hand Ejector. If it were mine, I'd already be headed to the back pasture with a box of wadcutters. If you decide to make it a "Safe Queen", then do send me your address, because that'll be one "Estate Sale" I won't want to miss. (Just in case I out-live you!). I shoot everything I have in my possession, new, old, pristine, beat, or fully engraved. I maintain them in the best condition I can, but they're ALL "working guns" out here. You never really "own" anything. You're just a caretaker for the next owner. In 100 years we'll all be dead anyway.
Whatever you decide, that's one nice pistola and a you made a great find!
Grasshopper, you are 100% correct. We own nothing and our talents are on loan from god too.
