It's a lot cheaper to buy & feed if you're just looking for a plinker & operates like the real thing.
Just wondering why alot of people are buying the 22lr ar instead of the 556/223 model is it a better rifle or is it the price?
I am thinking of getting one and would like some input.![]()

I've been very happy with my 15-22. It's fun, fires cheap ammo, it's easy to clean, and is dead accurate.

and a few Colts
I've had the 15/22 since the first gen came out. And have shot well over 2k rounds through it. I shoot it with the iron sights only at ranges of about 25-50 yds and couldn't be happier with it. It still shoots quarter sized holes at 50 yds from the bench. I've shot all kinds of ammo including federal bulk, remmy golds and CCI stingers. It feeds 99% of rounds reliably and fires without fail. Cleaning is easier than most pistols I've owned, the polymer receivers really hold up well. The only niggling complaint I had about it was when I got it, the lower wasn't totally cleaned out after the manufacturing process and had a lot of plastic shavings left in it. Otherwise, solid rifle, very accurate, similar controls to it's bigger brothers, easy to clean, cheap to shoot. I'd definitely recommend it.
This is one of those "Useless without picture" moments.

I chose mine because I wanted something inexpensive to shoot that would closely mimic my Colt AR15A3. I did a lot of online research reading/watching reviews before making my purchase.
Now I have a rifle that does mimic my AR very closely, is fun to shoot, very accurate, and only costs around 3 cents each time I pull the trigger compared to 35 cents with the AR.
I've been very happy with this rifle and would recommend it to anyone wanting an accurate, reliable, fun to shoot .22LR. Complements my Ruger 10/22 quite nicely as well.
CSX (railway?), I tend to agree with the tone of your OP. But then again I own some stuff others would likely shake their heads over. There are tools, toys and weapons; thank God I have several of each.
1000 rd of 5.56 = $300ish
1000 rd of .22 = $38
Shoot 500/month and you'll save $1500 a year! (just reinvest it in more ammo)!
Well, I'd like to have one, but until I can get around the cash to get it I'll just have to settle plinking with the Mossberg 702 and Ruger 10/22 I have.![]()
