Thinking about fully polishing my 659!!

So on my 59, the main frame of the gun is mostly flat while the top slide is mostly polished stainless. i was thinking about polishing the flat surfaces to match the rest, has anyone done this before? If so how do i do it and can i see some pics?

i was thinking about wet sanding the flat surfaces with 2k grit sandpaper then 3k grit. then using mother mag polish then finishing it with mothers billet polish. Whats your input?

There have been a few threads on polishing stainless. Up in the upper right corner there is a 'search' window, here are a few gleaned from it.

I have used them all and Mothers seems to give the best results. Not only do they look better it is MUCH easier to clean.

I can't tell by the photo, but is the top scrunched up tube "Polident"?

Hard to tell from bad picture but people think this was nickel plated.

Do you guys polish the cylinder flutes too? I would think it would be a nice touch to leave them flat finished to offset all of the high polished surfaces

Let me know which way you polished your cylinders
