Question Gunsmith Needed For PPC/Bullseye Revolver

I am having the "darndest" time trying to find a gunsmith to turn my rat .38 special revolver into a sweet shooting PPC/Bullseye race gun. Does anyone know of a gunsmith that can do this for me? I searched all over the 'net and I even emailed a few gunsmiths, but no such luck so far. It seems like it's turning into somewhat of a lost art, but i'm not giving up hope yet! I'm going to take a few pics of it (before and after type photos) to show that miracles can happen...

I think Obama has sent most off the gunsmiths to Gitmo.

Have you checked your local gun ranges? I know it's probably been done, but I gotta ask. My local range has several who work on the side to support their gun and shooting habit. What model is it? S&W-686?

It's a beat up Model 10 .38 special. Yes, please if you could ask around - I'm way ahead of you and I've done just that around here... all I get so far are shrugs of "sorry can't help ya there".

These guys won't take out of area work, just local stuff. My suggestion was for you to check your area. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I would try and contact Travis Strahan in Ringgold, Georgia. He is a long time member of the American Pistol Smiths GuildI had the pleasure of competing with one of his PPC guns back in the 80's and also had the pleasure of meeting him when I disassembled my Colt Woodman pistol for cleaning and was unable to reassemble it fully. He is a fine man and only charged me a few bucks and didn't laugh at me, at least not while I was there...

Looking at his Avitar, I'd say he's in the state of confusion! (Only joking)

We've not been able to obtain much info from him since his second post.
I'm thinking he came across a smithy by now.

I have several guns Joe has worked on including a heavy barrel 686 PPC gun.

He has built hundreds of PPC guns for top shooters all over the country.

    You will not be disappointed.
