    Regent 8 shot 22 revolver.

Hi everyone. I just bought a Regent 8 shot 22 revolver, sold by firearms internation corp. Wa. DC., 6 inch barrel serial no.r46278. It locks up priety tight and is in fairly decent shape, in the looks dept. Can anyone give me any information on it, and date of manufacturing ? Are they good plinkers ? it has fixed sights and i havent had a chance to shoot it yet. Thanks all.

I don't know if you are still around here. I know something about them. They were from about '62 to '68? Whenever they enacted some kind of elcheapo gun ban. Much of it is German made. RG maybe? Assembled here in the USA to get around legislation of some sort. The frame is pot metal. Characteristic for it I experienced was it won't always fire in DA. I read it somewhere on the net too. Yours is one of the later runs.

These were genuine "Saturday Night Specials." They sold for $12-$18 new.

Not too long ago I saw a man defended his home and shot a burglar with it. It was in Hampton VA. The man bought it and never fired it until he needed it!

Arminius may be the German company that made these.
