White House explains "socially conscious rapper who has done good things"

"No people in the world ever did achieve their freedom by goody-goody talk and moral suasion: it being immutable law that all revolutions that will succeed must being in blood, whatever may answer afterward."
    Mark Twain

With the amount of outrage this administration generates, it could become repellent enough to lose the second term of it's own accord.

I can just imagine the quality of the "poetry" that will be trotted out at this little soiree...

The Obama's do not seem to have the proper 'tastes', for the position which he holds. They leave a lot to be desired! Bob

Actor and rapper Common appeared at the White House last night. This poetry-night performance was in defiance of controversy. Synchronized by Michelle Obama, this White House Music Series event sprang out to go very well. Critics had been concerned that by choosing Common the White House was encouraging violence. Rapper Common advocates non-violence at White House event: read at newsytype.com. Some believe that the definition is wide open and can be interpreted in any way one likes. I believe it’s a matter of message.
