First line of defense , my faithful Pit - don't mess with Mr. Kane !
Lovin' it here in N. Ga - I wasn't born here , but I got here as fast as I could .
Sounds like population density meets median income. Another reason to stay in "fly-over country".
Whew! That is a weight off my shoulders, it is about time the elected Officials in L.A. had the courage to address this outlandish behavior. How dare anyone at the beach have any fun. Seeing they are on a roll, maybe it is time to Ban the over 300 pounders from from wearing Speedos and String Bikini's.![]()

Oh, they've had better ones than that! How about:
* No ammunition sales in L.A. County on News Years Eve (To reduce gunfire on New Years? Yeah, right. Everyone will realize at the last minute they're out of bullets...).
* It is "against the law!" to perform a "drive-by" shooting with an "assault weapon". (If I'm going to kill someone like a coward, at least I'll do it correctly??).
* (One of the best) The L.A. county sup. voted a number of years ago to outlaw weapons and/or ammo sales on "county property". What happened? It resulted in the best gun show in the west, the "Great Western Gun Show" to be banned from Pomona Fairgrounds (L.A. County property). That show brought many, many thousands of people into the area during the year and additional millions of dollars to local businesses, such as motels, restaurants, etc. The gun show sued. Meanwhile it moved the show to Las Vegas. It won the law suit for a few million, told L.A. (in so many words) "No Thanks" on possibly returning, and the show remains in Las Vegas to this day.
*This could go on for pages, but you get the idea of where they have their heads......
I remember (many years ago) when you could just find your own private piece of beach on the California coast, fish, dig clams, build a bon fire, or camp overnight or for days unmolested. No permits required. No parking or time restrictions, no B.S. Those days are gone forever in "Kal-if-ornia". Latest I heard is, it's now against the "Law" to operate a wood burning fireplace or stove below the 3,000 ft. level. (Too bad for air quality).
All I got to say is:
God Bless Texas!
A few years ago, I took a motorcycle trip to LA to be at a friend's wedding. The morning of the wedding, I decided to take a little trip up the coast. I started at Laguna beach. Since I had never been to the Pacific, I reluctantly found a spot, paid to park, and walked down a bit to the beach. Took some pics, and went back to my bike. Two bucks for that.
I rode up the highway and around Huntington beach decided I'd like to get back out on the beach. It looks bigger and nicer, and I thought I could take a little walk. I rode up to the little shack, and the attendant said it would be $10. The parking lot was empty, and I was like 'WTF???' I said that I just wanted to take a little look, it's just me and the bike. $10 is the price to park she told me. If I didn't want to pay that much, I should park on the street. So, I went to the street, found a meter, and discovered I didn't have any change. I got back on the bike, went to the wedding, and got out of there the next day as soon as I could.
I really dislike Southern California ..... I've been back several times and still haven't understood why anyone would live there. And I visit it as little as possible.

I guess I'm just a backwoods country hick, but I can't get interested enough in Kalifornia or NY to ever want to visit. I'll just hide out and take solace in my God and my guns.
Well, I'm glad I ain't scared to be lazy.
I don't know how many of you go beyond the actual article and read the "comments". There's were the real idiots hide. Instead of a joke a day, read the comments posted about the article sometime. Actually, be sure you have plenty of time because it's easy to get distracted.
JohnFox: Next time you're out to the left coast, go north to Oregon or Washington: Most of the beaches are free to walk on and you can even park your ride on a sanddune, if you can find a spot. I'd venture to say, if you got up into Northern California, you'll find free views as well.

Thanks Dave. Been to Seattle, thought it was a pretty town if not a little too wet for my tastes. And someone had the nerve to serve me red clam chowder. I don't know what was up with that, there wasn't even any bacon in it. It was tasty, but I told the server that I got clam soup instead of 'clam chowdah'. (He thought I was wierd, but I thought the same about him.) I'd like to go back and visit once I figure out which day it's going to be sunny.
Probably take a trip this year to Napa Valley on the bike, looks really pretty up there.
