That's kind of an, um, uh, "forward" question to ask a new member!

    Buffalogal,
Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new acquisition.
Schofield's are a whole bunch of fun to shoot.
With practice and careful loading, you might end up pretty impressed how accurate they can be.

Is this an antique Schofield? Or is possibly it a modern replica?
The replica's are usually very good shooters.
Looking on the grip butt is the normal place where most serial numbers are stamped. You may need to remove the grips to see it.
It may also be stamped on the back face of the cylinder, or on the bottom of the barrel close to the frame.
If it's an older or antique model, the serial number may be stamped in multiple locations on the pistol.
If you can't find the numbers look up a gunsmith in your local yellow pages and have them show you where it is on your pistol.
