Guy, this was a change that I didn't even know about until last week. Marketplace is different than the su-forum we use to have in the classifieds section. Marketplace is something new to me as well. I don't think it was as much a change in policy as it is a change in website software that opened up the marketplace section.

So, what now? Are we going to have the door slammed shut on gun sales again now that the admins and mods have wakened? Who is running this show?

Both Troybell, and Erik were sent messages to cool it. I closed the thread as well. So far neither complained over my actions. It looks like troybell may have left the forum.

    Guy, this info is private!
In one of the threads, he made a comment about Biden that he could suck his #####. That was enough to get him put on temporary suspension.

Thanks for the information, Gregory. Perhaps the members need to be informed that stating or alluding to an offensive sexual act will get you banned. BTW, Joe Biden can kiss my grits!

The 2" ones are scarcer than the 4". If the action and finish are good, then that's a good deal. Grips can be replaced. But, make them take off the Hogues and look at the grip frame for rusting.

    Howdy Wiregrassguy,
My shop is in Hayden, AL in Blount county (south Cullman).
I served aboard the USS Daniel Boone SSBN629 1970-72. Just thought I'd send a shout-out to a fellow submariner.

Jim, you should be able to see some grain on the butt of the grips. Will look like tree rings. Or, you can do the heat test. Take a pin and heat it with a match or lighter until it turns red. Then, stick it to the back of one of the grip panels. If it smells like hair, it is ivory. If it smells like plastic...well, then...you know.

    guy,
how do you tell if ivory grips from plastic? i have a couple of old blackhawk rugers 3 screws that have white grips. One off them has a price sticker still on it marked 1000(probably from gun show). seems a little high for just white plastic grips. any help?
    thanks, Jim

    Garrell,
I'm sorry but I don't know what it might be. It sounds like a collectible, perhaps a commemorative. If you can get it for a decent price, I'd go for it.
