As Caliifornia goes, so goes the rest of the nation...

At one time the saying went: "As Massachusetts goes, so goes the nation." This was partially true, as liberals have increased in number to the point of the near destruction of the Republic and the destruction of the once-great state of California.

I propose a warning: if other states "embrace" the one party ultra-left do-as-we-say-or-else totalitarian mindset, the United States as we know it will be lost. California just passed the most egregious form of anti-constitutional gun control we've ever seen. They are requiring anyone who owns a certain class of rifle register it as an "assault weapon" and provide their personal information to anyone who wants it.

This kind of anti-freedom law echoes similar laws enacted in the past ten years, many of which are related to the false idea called "climate change", which is the second Marxist revolution described by Karl Marx in his writings after the Communist Manifesto. Many California farmers no longer have access to water (including their own wells) and over 50% of the state has been taken by the federal and state governments for so-called state and national parks and for "land management". Many of these areas have been placed off-limits to citizens.

I live in the most conservative county in California and yet many of our schools have "protected" areas which are non-accessible in the name of "wetland preservation", students stepping into these areas are subject to legal prosecution. The signs and fences around each of these areas cost about the salary of a teacher's aid for one year. Just an example of why California taxes are some of the highest in the nation.

Folks, please don't let your state decline into the sort of one-party socialist, anti-Constitutional totalitarianism that California has become.

The Liberals have taken control of much of the country. Trump got a win.....because of the Electoral College.....not the popular vote. Hillary got the popular vote.....how she did it was by lying and cheating......a popular Democratic ploy. I fear that Trump will be the last Republican President, unless he can do everything that he has promised. The make-up of this country favors Liberals. Here in Massachusetts, the Democrats are firmly in control, but somehow Gov. Baker (R) got in. Just about every Democrat gets in, in this state. My vote is a drop in the bucket. Bob

Who will protect California from the Californian legislature? Things are gettin "weird" here in ohio. I almost walked on a timber rattler while hiking in the southern part and I smacked it to get it gone. I couldn't shoot as I was on state land. I asked a Ranger about rattlers in ohio and my issue! His reply shocked me. OH MY GOD you didn't kill it did you? No? Oh thank heavens they are protected! WTH! down home in Texas we kill snakes, don't we? Always did back in the day. Hmmm.....
    Shoot straight, Pardner!

While 50 years ago, it pretty much was true that CA was leading the change, 2016 was the point where REAL Americans decided it has gone too far. The welcoming of Illegals, the Hollywood "experts of politics", the constant advertising and movies THEMED to bias towards the sex deviate, anti-white, anti-Law mentality finally got Americans off their couches to vote for MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.

It's going to take awhile, to root out the mistaken teachings/indoctrination over the past decades of degraded Public Education from purely Liberal viewpoints (including Revisionist History), to root out the Welfare State mentality, and to FORCE people to be responsible and accountable, again.

One of the problems is that, once in control of school boards and universities, the loony left progressives begin to infect the minds of our children.

Long term conditioning with careful subliminal messaging is a very effective approach to mind control.

Many of the ideas being planted are both dangerous and anti-democracy in nature. The teaching techniques (reward and recognition for trying, not for succeeding) certainly don't lead to responsible and accountable individuals making constructive decisions.

Now that fewer than half of us are paying the freight for all the rest, the welfare state is expected and the majority are dependent upon it for their everyday existence. Imagine how vulnerable this makes us to a foreign attacker that could easily "manage" a large portion of the population by taking it away.... Cooperate or you won't eat... We'll take away your smart-phone...

A people that cannot sustain themselves through their own efforts and working together are a weak people, indeed...
    Cheers!

I'm sorry guys, but I realize these two states are your home, but I can't understand how you could live there. Almost everyone I know here in the midwest, shake their heads about these left and right coast states. Thank God our forefathers had the foresight to create the electoral college, so this leftist, liberal and socialist agenda's would have a much more difficult chance of infecting the rest of us!!!

I see a lot of people from California moving here. My question is if they don't like what is going on in their state, why don't they get rid of the morons in office.

The problem is they usually bring their " progressive" politics with them and the first thing you know you are no longer in a red state. That's what happened here in Oregon. It used to be loggers and mill workers now it is lattes and Starbucks'.
I'm Mr Bad Example, take a look at me.
