Well we got our daughter out the door and off to her first day of kindergarten this monring. No tears were shed, at least be my daughter anyway. She's already got a couple of friend's in class. Guess we'll see how her day went when I pick her up this afternoon.
All set to go with her backpack on. Can you guess her favorite color? And no I won't get her a Cricket or a Hello Kitty AR to match.
The expression says it all, "Mom, dad, what the HELL did you just get me into?"

There's a country song called "Your gonna' miss this" that reminds me of things like a daughter, or in my case, a grand-daughter, going to Kindergarden this year.
You'll do like me and look up and she'll be 30 and you'll wonder...how did THAT happen so quick !?!

the first day is always the scariest part of starting school she will make new friends thanks for your post.
I have one of those, and her first day is Sept. 1. We can start a "first day of K" thread, but don't be too disappointed if there isn't much participation. My daughter has a pink stocked Ruger youth 10/22 btw...hasn't fired it yet, she needs a couple of more years I think.
Hang tough Z, she looks to be doing fine! Mama and I are still getting the latest grand-gal through, last week was her first and she came down sick after two days, so today was almost like starting again, not easy!
Z, our two boys zipped through school and now the grand kids are zipping through. Not sure where the time went but spend it wisely now 'cause there ain't no 'later'

That first day is the toughest. One of my cousins has a deal with his wife. He was given the choice of taking their now entering kindergarten the choice of taking her for all shots for the year or taking her for the first day of kindergarten. He picked taking for the shots.
Proposing gun bans to prevent crime is like trying to prevent drunk driving by not allowing sober people to own cars.
I remember walking our daughter to the bus stop for her first day of school in Kindergarten. Then driving fast to get ahead of her to be sure she got off the bus and into the school okay.
I think I did that for 2 weeks!

Yes, first day and my daughter's already been profiled. She's been labled as a "talker" and will be moving her desk to the front row tomorrow. I had to laugh, when we walked into class this morning I saw her desk in the back row and thought to myself, "This is not going to end well..." All in all she had a good day and i took her to Baskin Robbins afterwards to celebrate her first day.
