If you like bourbon, get hold of a bottle of George T. Stagg. Single barrel, high octane, and whiskey of the year in the recent past. That stuff is AMAZING! But at around $150+ a bottle, don't drop it!

It's gotta be chocolate of some sort. I don't care as long as it's chocolate something.

I guess my tastes are less sophisticated than yours Doc, but here's mine. Hey, it's better than the Red Mountain King Kong jug wine at .69cents the half gallon, just pressed the other day, from back in the '60s.

I feel sorry for you Charlie, ice cream is one of life's pleasures but then, so is keeping all your toes.
As far as bourbon goes, back in my whiskey drinking days, it was Jack Daniels until I discovered Johnny Walker. But then a fellow had me try a single, malt then it was any single that started with "Glen..." or ended with "...ich". That got too expensive so I went back to beer. I keep a six pack in the fridge but the kids and guests drink it or I use it in a pot of beans,,,

Sorry to say, but I've spoiled myself. Brenda and I bought an ice cream machine a couple of years ago, and once you get the hang of if (recipies are to be meddled with, and just like kneading dough, you can churn it too long or not long enough, and it needs to age for at least one day), it beats everything on the store shelf.

My favorite is Cinnamon-walnut. But last year I found a Martha Stewart recipe for ice cream sandwiches made with dark chocolate brownies and peanut butter ice cream. Had to change the recipe (her's uses too much cream), but Mmmmmm....good. It takes three days to make it, and makes far too many ice cream sandwiches. Why three days?? Day one .. make the base and let it sit in the fridge overnight so the milk absorbs all the peanutty goodness. Day two .. make the brownies and let them freeze for an hour or two (not a good idea to put fresh ice cream on warm brownies if you are making ice cream sandwiches). I don't do it the day before so they are fresher. Then make the ice cream. Day three .. EAT!!!!

Have tried a couple of other flavors, but keep coming back to these two.

Oh .. Basil-Haden, Jameson and Red Breast occupy my cabinet....but used to be a Wild Turkey kinda guy.

Blue Bell vanilla... or Mr. John's 1980 vanilla. Serve either one with some Nabisco Vanilla Wafers to the bitterest of enemies and you could achieve world peace buy just adding spoons.
