A Billion

This is great. I hope everyone who reads this will finally under stand what a Billion is and remember that a Trillion is a million million.

After Hurricane Katrina, Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu (D) asked Congress for $250 billion to help rebuild New Orleans. If you break down all those billions, All 484,674 residents of New Orleans (every man, woman and child) would get $516,528.
If you have one of the 188,251 homes in New Orleans, your house would get $1,329,787.
If you were a family of four, your family would get $2,006,012.

And where did our government get all those billions and trillions of dollars? Yep, they got their money from you and me via taxes.

In my Opinion:

1. Liberal, Socialist Politicians pandering to minorities/special interest groups, with our tax dollars, in exchange for the votes to keep the aforementioned politicians in power.
2. Liberal Judges "legislating from the bench", and allowing absolutely ridiculous lawsuits to go forward.
3. Deviance being re-named "lifestyle choices".
4. "Political Correctness", Hate Crimes, and other forms of supressing what USED to keep these things in check, namely public ostracization and righteous indignation.
5. The absolute removal of ALL things referenced to God and Judeo-Christianity, and the free reign of other "alternate" religions.
6. The "PURSUIT of Happiness" becoming the "RIGHT of Happiness", with no effort or "sweat equity" involved.

Having been around this world a few times and lived in 7 foreign countries I can truly say, dispite all our domestic problems, this is STILL the best country on the planet to live in.

I'm right in the middle of one of the best books on the subject. If you haven't read "Ameritopia", by Mark Levin, go out and get it now.

It puts the lie to socialism, social democracy, communism, utopianism, and the Leviathon (Thomas Hobbes) concepts. Just reading the excerpts from John Locke's theses, make this one of the best books written on the subject of the American experience. The words of Locke so well define the concept of liberty and freedom, that you can see where the Founding Fathers found the basis for our constitutionally limited republic possible. It points out the moral responsibility of man, and thoroughly debunks the myth of egaletarianism. It also points out the danger of legislatures, whose sole priority becomes re-election and holding on to power for power's sake.

It's a major eye opener.

The Democrats make a total mess of things and the Republicans never clean it up. I'm not sure why but, Republicans have turned into a buch of spineless idiots that are hoping the Democrats will just like them a bit more. "Hapless Republicans" may be a better name for them.

I got our taxes done a week or so ago, I'm awful glad I don't get all the government I pay for.
