Yesterday my wife and I went to a gun show at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Berea(greater Cleveland). The show was packed, 500 tables advertised and I believe it, like a shopping mall on Christmas eve---we had to push through people to see the tables. I had no idea there was this much interest in guns. Most of the guns shown were modern, and if not modern then used foreign military, not many collectibles, but still very interesting. I'm planning to go to a couple of other local shows in the near future.

Gun shows are pretty cool, and you can find some great deals. I just got my 29-3 at a show in January, 700 tables, very busy and seemed like pretty much everybody was leaving with some new purchase. If you really want some fun, make your way over to the 1500 in Indianapolis, called that because there are supposedly 1500 vendors there. My brother and I went there about a year ago and it is huge, all kinds of cool stuff!
Glad ya had a good time, SRGBV! Gun Shows today are a far cry from what they were 10-15 years ago, and some of the prices are astounding these days, but it is neat to see what's out there, and find a few "tidbits and jewels" to take home with ya, too!

The thing that bothers me the most is the fact most of the vendors @ our local shows here are old men. Not a single one under 50 & most 70+. I'd hate to see them die out but I'm too old to be youngblood anymore too.

I stopped going to gun shows. I think prices went beyond what I thought was fair (although I may look back and regret this). I got tired of paying an admission fee (they were free).
I get my kicks cruising around the local shops and looking for something interesting.

Nowadays there doesn't seem to be any "middle-of-the-road" when it comes to Gun Shows.
They are either "Real Good", or an extention of the local "Flea Market" with everything from home made jam, to chia pets for sale.
Glad to hear you had a good experience, that's what keeps us coming back...

I have been going to gun shows for 40+ years. I have -N-E-V-E-R- seen so many people arming themselves. Bet as we get closer to November we will see a LOT more of this. I have been through the Assault Weapons Ban and this is 5-10 times as bad.
I still remeber my first gun show. it was agood time for all of us.
There are 3 gunshows that regularly get scheduled in this area.
One in Bonners Ferry, one in Coeur d'Alene, and the one in Spokane. It's the Spokane show that get's my admittance fees every time.
Coeur d'Alene and Bonners are so small a mouse could cross the floor and never have to worry about getting stepped on.
It's always the same old junk or tacticool garbage that didn't sell at the show 2 months ago. The only thing that's fresh at either of those shows, is the beef jerky and fudge.
Spokane is a good show and there's always a good deal there if you take the time to talk with the vendors and do some dickering. I've done well buying a few longguns at each of the shows I've gone to. I'm looking forward to the next show in April too.
I'm glad it was a good experience for you. Next time you might want to get there about a half hour before the doors open. Get in as fast as you can and you'll be able to get a better eye on the collections before the throngs arrive a couple hours later.
Regards,
Gregory
My firearms are an investment on my life.
When the time comes that I don't want a new gun, call the undertaker!
The average response time for 911 is 20 min., the average response time for .357 magnum is 1400 FPS.

SRGBV, im from Canton, Ohio and though i wasn't there the other day the Cuyahoga county Gun Show is one of if not THEE best one int his area, i got both my Model 36 and my 19-4 from there, from the same guy actually. Ive been a little out of the loop lately on the local shows, im kind of bummed it was so recent and i missed it. Last one i was at was in Dalton, and it was so so, it seemed like the number of knives outweighed the number of guns, which theres nothing wrong with but i was in the market for some particulars, none of which i found.
