Mr. LaPierre is very eloquent in his speech, and calls out EVERY ONE of the anti-2A people. God Love Him.

I'm just curious how much hassle would a person get from the members here, if that person made a comment that they hate almost everything the NRA stands for? Or they commented that they felt LaPierre was full of hot air.

    Gregory,

I would have to ask why the individual had those opinions.

    Me too,
I just thought it an interesting question in a place where nearly everybody is an NRA member.
I know a few people that aren't gun people, but are still NRA members. And quite a few that are gun people but aren't NRA members.

One thing I can say for those I've talked to that aren't members, is that they don't like the stories about the constant phone calls and requests for money to support the NRA's causes.
They prefer to be left alone with their guns, dogs and trucks.

    Regards,
    Gregory

    Gregory,

You mean to say NON members get those calls and mailings, too? I thought only the true-blue card-carryin' members received that harrassment uh,... I mean privelege!

    No,
I've heard that they've talked to NRA members that have gotten the unrelenting calls, especially during the last election cycle asking for donations to defeat Obama and the like. I wasn't a member back then, so I had no idea that happened at all. I haven't had any troble with phone calls form them since I joined so I was surprised to hear of it.
I drop off all of my American Hunter and American Rifleman magazines in the lunchroom at work as soon as I'm done reading them every month.
Everybody at work knows I'm an NRA member and gun collector, so I get to hear a whole bunch of comments from both sides all the time.

I'm definitely not a fan. I wonder why they pay him $900k per year. I hate to think that it takes 900 new life memberships annually to pay him when EFFECTIVE organizations like SAF have to scramble for half that.
Does anyone actually believe that the Founders were sitting around in John Adams' tavern UNARMED because they believed a bar should be a gun free zone?
